Implementation of the Electronic Health Record is an inherent extension of the Texas Health Resources mission to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve.
Texas Health leaders and the organization's board of trustees made a commitment to the community in 2004 by deciding to invest more than $200 million in selecting, configuring, testing, integrating and deploying the EHR at hospitals across the system.
The process began in 2006 with an initial install and go-live at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
Since then, dedicated teams of clinicians, physicians and IT professionals have continued to perfect processes, fine-tune order sets, develop and execute training programs and tirelessly tout the EHR's many benefits in sequential rollouts at the remaining Texas Health facilities.
A final implementation in late 2011 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton completed adoption and installation of the Electronic Health Record at all of the system's wholly owned facilities.
