Peggy A. Bell Women's Diagnostic and Breast Center
Breast Cancer Care at Texas Health Dallas
The Peggy A. Bell Women's Diagnostic and Breast Center offers the latest medical technology for detecting breast cancer, including leading-edge breast tomosynthesis imaging and digital mammography, in a comfortable and warm environment.
We understand the anxiety that can come with getting a mammogram or other medical procedure, so we've designed a center with relaxing waiting areas, comfortable lounges and large, private changing rooms. The center offers services with your convenience in mind; weekend and evening appointments and pre-registration by phone are available.
All mammography performed at the center is 100 percent digital, which has been shown to be more beneficial than film mammography for many women, according to a recent article in The New England Journal of Medicine. Digital mammography allows physicians on the medical staff to find smaller cancers earlier than when using conventional film technology and the digital images can be stored electronically. The center also uses a computer-aided detection system, which utilizes technology to search for patterns that are typically recognized as indicators for cancer.
Why Choose the Women's Diagnostic and Breast Center?
The center offers sophisticated technology, including all-digital mammography and a computer-aided detection system, which uses new technology to search for patterns that are typically recognized as indicators for cancer.
The center offers convenient evening and weekend appointments.
As a hospital-based facility, the Women's Diagnostic and Breast Center provides convenient access to a wide range of services — from chaplains to the hospital's comprehensive Breast Care Program to an Integrative Medicine Program which offers complementary methods you can use along with conventional treatment to relieve symptoms or side effects, ease pain and help you improve your attitude and outlook.
The availability of leading-edge options in early detection is important for women who know they are at increased risk of developing breast cancer. The center is the first in North Texas to commercially offer breast tomosynthesis, a form of 3D mammography. The technology is aimed at catching breast cancers early in women at higher than average risk for the disease or those with dense breast tissue. We are also proud to offer Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI). BSGI can identify hard-to-detect lesions, making it a vital diagnostic tool that goes beyond traditional mammography and ultrasound.
