THR Announces New President of Harris Methodist Northwest Hospital 06/12/2007
ARLINGTON, Texas – Winjie Tang Miao, who has been administrative director-Oncology Services, Clinic Services, Planning & Construction at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas (PHD) for the past year has been selected to fill the role of president-Harris Methodist Northwest Hospital (HMNW). Her start date in the position is Sept. 3. Miao has been with THR since 2000.
Miao started at PHD as an administrative resident and administrative fellow, including time in 2001-02 as interim director of Digestive Diseases and Women's Specialty Services. She followed that with stints as director of Women's & Children's Clinics, Facilities Development and Innovation and as director-Ambulatory Clinics, Facilities Development and Innovation. Miao's advancement from Administrative Resident to Administrative Director and now to the role of HMNW president speaks highly of the environment at PHD.
Miao received a B.S. in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and a master's of healthcare administration, with a concentration in financial management and quality management, from the University of North Carolina.
Miao is a board member of the Dallas chapter of the American Cancer Society and an advisory board member of the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce. Just this year, she completed her participation in Leadership Dallas, a leadership development program hosted by the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce aimed at providing the region with a source of diverse leaders who are prepared to serve as catalysts of positive change for the quality of life in the area.
In 2001, Miao received a THR Mosaic Pin award, recognizing outstanding support of diversity in the workplace and in the community. She has been a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 1999.
