Executive Health Program Tour

The Executive Health Program Physical is divided into two separate appointments, a "Day 1" and "Day 2." Your appointments will last between 90 minutes and two hours. Prior to Day 1, you will receive a package of paperwork in the mail. We ask that you complete your health risk information and nutrition assessment forms to the best of your ability and bring them with you. In addition, you will need to fast (from food and exercise) for 12 hours prior to your Day 1 visit (water is acceptable).

Day 1
At your initial visit, you will work with the Executive Health Program's Clinical Staff to complete several preliminary assessments, including a medical history, chest X-ray, blood work, auditory test and vision screening. Please see Available Services for a complete list.

If you choose to have a CT scan as part of your package, it will be done by a CT technologist during your Day 1 visit. Please see Preparation for Your Imaging Services for a detailed description of each CT scan and its requirements. During the imaging process, you will lie on your back on a table that will be moved through the scanner, which is shaped like a donut. No needles or sedation are necessary. The scan involves low-dose radiation, with minimal exposure. The scan itself will take about 10 minutes. Your scans will be read by a radiologist on the medical staff who is certified by the American Board of Radiology. After all CT scans and blood work are complete, coffee will be available. Breakfast will also be offered to those who complete the Discovery Package or virtual colonoscopy.

Also, the Executive Health Program's registered dietitian will review your nutrition assessment. The visit allows our dietitian an opportunity to gather information on your dietary habits and history, goals and possible limitations to eating healthy. Feel free to ask questions, as this is a one-on-one visit.

In the comprehensive physical package, you will also walk through a three-day food recall with the dietitian. From here, your daily food intake will be entered into a computer system that identifies calories/nutrients needed, consumed and goals. You will receive the information in a printed document and discuss the findings during your Day 2 visit.

Day 2
The second day of your physical includes a Stress Treadmill EKG Test and a physical with the physician. Please wear or bring workout attire (exercise clothes and tennis shoes) for the treadmill test. We have both a changing room and locker room with shower. No fasting is required for the Day 2 visit, but we do ask that you not eat a large meal before the appointment and avoid caffeine for four hours before your arrival.

During the physical, the physician will review the results of your Day 1 screenings, lab work, Stress Treadmill EKG, CT scans and be available for questions or concerns. The CT technologist may also show you pictures of your scans from Day 1.

After meeting with the physician, you will see the dietitian again. At this time, nutrition education will be provided based on your needs and desires. Education can include, but is not limited to:

  • Healthy weight loss/weight gain
  • Portion sizes
  • Food labels
  • Lowering cholesterol/triglycerides through diet
  • Nutrition for diabetes
  • Including fiber in your diet
  • Healthy snacking
  • Healthy fast food dining
  • Restaurant dining
  • Grocery shopping ideas
  • Sports/exercise nutrition

Handouts and take-home information will be provided at the time of education. If you are completing a comprehensive physical, the three-day food diary assessment and findings will also be discussed. The dietitian will discuss nutrition recommendations to help meet your goals.

Your Report
Upon completion of both days, you will be mailed a complete "Results Package," containing all resutls and reports from your visit. You may also have a copy sent to your primary care physician.

The Executive Health Program is a great way to monitor your health and track annual results. We look forward to serving you.
