DMN Highlights Gift to Combine Parkland, PHD Nursing Schools
Robert Miller's Oct. 13 column in The Dallas Morning News details a $3 million gift by Florence A. Doswell, widow of Dallas oilman Houston J. Doswell, to Texas Woman's University for its new T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences-Dallas Center. The new institute combines TWU's nursing schools at Parkland and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas into one building at the Parkland location. Groundbreaking for the 190,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for 2009, and the opening is scheduled for 2011.
