The May 20 edition of USA Today includes a feature story about Indy race car driver Danica Patrick and the complex combination of intelligence, brain chemicals and environmental influences required to make a champion. Dr. Malcolm Stewart, medical director of the Human Performance Lab at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, was one of the featured medical experts who commented in the article, entitled "The 'need for speed' may be DNA-driven.'

HMFW featured in Woman's World magazine

Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital is featured in this month’s Woman’s World magazine, a national magazine targeted at women. Sue Shields, R.N., director of cancer care services at HMFW, is quoted in a story about how spring flowers can provide benefits through aromatherapy.

KRLD features PHD physician

The May 20 afternoon news on KRLD-AM (1080) included a live interview with Dr. Richard L. Weiner, chairman of neurosurgery at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Dr. Weiner spoke about brain cancer and what treatments are available to those suffering from the disease. The story was based on the news that Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) has a malignant brain tumor.

Ch. 8 features PHD chefs

Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas chefs Bill Cunningham and Del Fino Vega won 1st Place for the "Healthy Plate Award" and 2nd Place Medal in the "Overall Competition" during last Friday's North Texas Culinary Challenge of the American Society for Healthcare Foodservices Administrators. A story with Cunningham and Vega appeared on Friday's 5 p.m. newscast on WFAA-TV (Channel 8). Their winning meal was a scallop ceviche appetizer, with a duo entree of beef tenderloin with wild mushroom demi glaze and pork tenderloin with roasted red pepper sauce. On the side, they served turned squash and new potatoes.
