When an Emergency StrikesIf your father is having a heart attack or your daughter is involved in a car wreck, the Emergency Department (ED) and Level IV Trauma Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman have quality trauma services available.
The emergency services team at Texas Health Kaufman is committed to providing
around-the-clock, quality care for every patient, from admission to discharge.
“When a patient arrives at the ED, our triage nurse takes the patient’s vital signs and prioritizes who is seen next based on the severity of the condition,” says Mark Sanders, M.S.N., R.N., director of Nursing and Emergency Services at Texas Health Kaufman. “In order to provide the most efficient care possible, we are continually implementing quality initiatives to decrease wait times and increase patient satisfaction.”
In addition to Emergency Services available in the ED, the Level IV Trauma Center provides advanced, compassionate care to seriously injured patients.
“The physicians and health care professionals in our Emergency Department provide prompt assessment, resuscitation and stabilization for patients who have sustained traumatic injuries,” says Darla Hibdon, R.N., certified adult and pediatric sexual assault nurse at Texas Health Kaufman. “We also work in conjunction with the Trauma Regional Advisory Council, a system of higher level trauma facilities, to transfer patients to a major trauma or stroke center when necessary.”
If you or someone you love experiences an emergency, call 911 or visit the ED at
