Texas Health Springwood Hospital Director to Also Lead Texas Health Seay Center at Plano|
BEDFORD, Texas — Ramona Osburn will expand her oversight of behavioral health care services in North Texas by becoming administrative director of Texas Health Seay Center at Plano. Osburn will continue to serve as administrative director for Texas Health Springwood Hospital in Bedford.
Both facilities operate within the Texas Health Resources health care system, which cares for the largest number of patients across North Texas. Texas Health Springwood operates five outpatient centers across the Metroplex and an inpatient and outpatient behavioral health hospital in Bedford. Texas Health Seay Center at Plano operates inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
As part of the changes, Texas Health Seay Center at Plano will open an intake and assessment center, seek Center of Excellence Designation, and participate in more community outreach.
“By working with both facilities, we will be able to better serve patients across North Texas struggling with behavioral health or addiction issues,” Osburn said. “Texas Health offers a continuum of health care services from Allen to Southwest Fort Worth in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. This is just another step to provide more access points across North Texas.”
In 2008, an estimated 13.4 percent of adults sought treatment for mental illness, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Osburn started at Texas Health Springwood a decade ago and was named Springwood Hospital director in 2006. She holds a master's degree in business administration from Texas Woman’s University and is active in a number of industry organizations, including the Texas Hospital Association Board of Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency and Tarrant County Mental Health Association.
Springwood Hospital Coordinators Barbara Alderete and Scott Martin have also been promoted.
Alderete previously was coordinator for the Texas Health Springwood Center Southlake. Martin previously served as coordinator for Texas Health Springwood Center Allen. Now Alderete will be manager over Texas Health Springwood Center Southlake and Texas Health Springwood Center Southwest Fort Worth.
Martin will oversee Texas Health Springwood Center Allen, Texas Health Springwood Center Arlington and Texas Health Springwood Center Azle.
“Scott and Barbara have demonstrated their skills in the clinical setting caring for our patients,” Osburn said. “Similar to the alignment with our Plano and Bedford inpatient hospitals, having two managers overseeing the outpatient centers will help us streamline our care offerings.”
