Associate Chief Nursing Officer Appointed to Leadership Team at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford 09/24/2012
BEDFORD, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford has appointed Sandi McDermott, D.N.P., R.N., NEA-BC, to be the hospital’s new associate chief nursing officer. In her role, McDermott will oversee key service lines and around-the-clock staffing at the hospital.
McDermott joins Texas Health Resources with more than 12 years of clinical and leadership nursing experience. In previous roles, she played an instrumental part in the implementation of the electronic health record and helped to accomplish Six Sigma status in patient care performance improvement. McDermott has also committed herself to improving quality and satisfaction for patients.
McDermott received a master’s in nursing administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and recently received a doctorate degree in nursing practice in executive leadership from Texas Christian University. She has been board chair and president of the Dallas Fort Worth Great 100 Nurses and previously served on the board of directors for Texas Nurses Association District 3 and on the Texas Nurses Association State Practice Committee. She is also a member of several nursing organizations including, Sigma Theta Tau and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
