HMWR Parent System to Better Align Its Brands
01/16/2008

CLEBURNE, Texas – Texas Health Resources, Harris Methodist Walls Regional’s parent system, announced that as part of its 10-year Strategic Focus, the company will better align its four brands. Texas Health Resources will become the prominent, unifying name, signaling to the public that the three brand names they have known for decades are all in the same family.  The hospital family names will remain, and the system will change the way it promotes itself, referring to the hospitals as Texas Health Presbyterian, Texas Health Harris Methodist and Texas Health Memorial. Harris Methodist Walls Regional will be Texas Health Harris Methodist Cleburne beginning January 2009.

“Texas Health Resources has a strong family of hospitals, and I am proud our family helped bring that tradition to Cleburne,” said Sam Walls, board chair of Harris Methodist Walls Regional Hospital, and a member of the THR board as well as the Harris Methodist Health System board. “This change will allow Cleburne residents to realize the depth of services they can access through their local hospital.”

As part of the 10-Year Strategic Focus, Texas Health Resources has been looking at ways to better align its four brands. With Arlington Memorial, Harris Methodist and Presbyterian all part of the same Texas Health Resources-branded health care system, the system looked for ways to:

  • Help the public understand the depth and breadth of its capabilities across North Texas and
  • Strengthen the cultural, family ties within the system among the physicians who practice on the medical staff, employees, volunteers and other stakeholders.

The Texas Health Resources name is already well-established within the health care industry with its business partners, vendors, payers and others. This new emphasis on the system name will enable the system to establish the same level of recognition among consumers.

“It is an exciting time in our hospital’s history,” said Blake Kretz, president of Harris Methodist Walls Regional Hospital.  “This is more than a name change. It’s an opportunity for our hospital to capitalize on the benefits of being part of a system whose focus is to improve quality and customer service to our patients.”

To honor the Walls family’s contribution to the hospital, there are plans to include a painting of the family in the hospital as well as a prominent monument outside the facility.

During 2008, the hospitals will begin the transition to establishing Texas Health Resources as a trusted name for quality health care among the general public. In 2009, the names Texas Health Presbyterian, Texas Health Harris Methodist and Texas Health Memorial will be prominent across North Texas on everything from the facilities, to advertising and even name badges.
