Pink Bag Lunch & Women’s Forum to Highlight Women’s Heart Health Issues
04/01/2010

CLEBURNE, Texas — On Tuesday, April 27, women from around Cleburne are invited to share laughs and lunch while learning what steps they can take to protect their hearts.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne, along with the Black & White Gala and Friends of Texas Health Cleburne, will host the annual Pink Bag Lunch & Women’s Forum. It will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the Cleburne Conference Center. The event is free, but registration is required.

Dr. David Parrish, a cardiologist on the medical staff at Texas Health Cleburne, will speak about what women need to know about their heart health. The topic is “Heart Tests Invented By Men For Men, How Does A Girl Have A Chance? Updates in Women’s Heart Health, 2010.”

“The Pink Bag Lunch and Women’s Forum is always fun for the community and for the hospital,” said Blake Kretz, FACHE, hospital president. “The luncheon is a chance for women to learn important information about heart health and take time to care for themselves.”

The Pink Bag Lunch & Women’s Health Forum event is funded by the Black & White Gala and Friends of Texas Health Cleburne. The annual event began in 2000.

Typically between 300 and 400 women attend. Health education materials and information on Black & White Gala sponsored programs, such as “Mammograms are a Must!,” “Shots for Tots,” and “Know Your PSA,” are available at the event. To register, visit TexasHealth.org/HarrisFoundation or call 1-877-THR-WELL.
