When you become a volunteer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman, you assist caring professionals whose mission is to improve the health of the people in the community they serve. Together with physicians on the medical staff, the vision is to be recognized by the community for faith-based care delivery, illness prevention and health education.
Volunteers at Texas Health Kaufman are dedicated men and women from varied backgrounds who share a common desire to help others. They get a first-hand look at what goes into high-quality health care through their efforts to comfort patients, provide information to guests and visitors and assist the hospital staff. Volunteers typically sign up for one four-hour shift each week and agree to a six-month commitment.
There are many benefits to becoming a volunteer. In addition to helping others, volunteers have the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills, gain new insights and achieve a sense of accomplishment. A complimentary meal is also provided to volunteers while working at the hospital. Volunteer achievements are recognized twice a year with an awards dinner or luncheon.
