Elizabeth Ransom, M.D., FACS, was named executive vice president and North Zone clinical leader in June 2012. Before that, she was chief quality officer at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth.

As CQO, Ransom led quality improvement and outcomes activities with the medical staff. She also oversaw medical staff affairs, pharmacy, patient safety, utilization and risk management activities for the hospital.

She also worked with Texas Health leadership around the system to advance clinical initiatives. Under her leadership, Texas Health Southwest received a quality care financial reward from the Healthcare Quality Incentive Demonstration and has been named a QUEST Top Performing Hospital.

Prior to serving as chief quality officer, Ransom worked with the Texas Health Research & Education Institute on the graduate medical education initiative.

Ransom previously served as residency program director in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery for the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Mich. Ransom earned her medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. She completed her residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the Henry Ford Health System.
