If you or someone you loves needs emergency care, you can take comfort in knowing that Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth offers quality emergency services close to home. The 20,000-square-foot Emergency Department has 36 exam and treatment rooms equipped to handle medical emergencies for people of all ages.

Get a free first-aid kit from Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth.Physicians on the medical staff and other clinical personnel trained in emergency care are prepared to deal with serious injuries and illnesses 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The emergency staff receives continual training in the use of specialized lifesaving equipment and techniques.

Upon arrival, patients are seen be a triage nurse who determines the order in which patients receive attention. In emergency situations, patients are not seen on a "first come, first served" basis. Rather, they are seen in order of the seriousness of their problems. Please keep in mind that there a number of reasons patients may have to wait in the Emergency Department. Other patients may be treated ahead of you due to the severity of their conditions, if specialized treatment rooms may not immediately be available, or if a test or procedure is needed.

The Support You Need
We recognize that a trip to the Emergency Department can be a frightening and stressful experience. That's why we are dedicated to giving you the support you need to get through this difficult time. Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth has case managers available to address non-medical needs, including providing information on temporary housing family violence programs, alcohol and drug treatment, support groups and home care.

The hospital also provides spiritual care to patients and their families. The John W. Sikes Memorial Chapel is available for meditation and prayer 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The chapel is located in the hospital atrium, near the hospital's main entrance. Chaplains are available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and are on call for emergencies.
