Heartsaver First Aid and CPR
This American Heart Association (AHA) course is designed for individuals with limited or no medical training who need a course completion card in first aid and CPR AED to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. The goal of the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course is to train participants to recognize, respond to and treat a variety of first aid emergencies including relief of choking, and perform CPR and use an AED in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest. The course includes adult, child, and infant rescue techniques.
The AHA textbook may be picked up in advance or arrangements may be made for shipping, if time allows, by contacting the Education Center at 817-960-6408.
You will be practicing skills that require bending, standing, and lifting. If you have physical conditions that might prevent you from participating in the course, please tell the instructor when you arrive for the course. The instructor will work to accommodate your needs within the stated course completion requirements. The class is primarily driven by video instruction and therefore must begin promptly at the scheduled time; unfortunately late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.
