For more than a half-century, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas has been at the forefront of health care in North Texas. We continue to provide quality patient care for heart health, oncology, neurosurgery and women’s health/infant care. Designated as a Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, the hospital’s experienced team of physicians on the medical staff provides advanced emergency care in a timely manner. Texas Health Dallas has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check mark for Comprehensive Heart Attack Center Certification. The hospital is also offers Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), advanced care for life-threatening heart and lung conditions. Our enduring commitment to the community allows us to offer this same compassionate care outside of the hospital walls, working with local organizations to provide patient education and support.
Parking & Transportation
Starting January 2024, there will be construction to Garage 1. This garage serves the Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants and the Fogelson Auditorium. The replacement of Garage 1 is expected to last through early winter of 2024. During this time, please use temporary vehicle flows and unaffected parking lots and garages.
Visitor Information
Patients may receive visitors at any time (specialty units, including Behavioral Health, may have some variation). Please check with the nurse regarding specific unit visiting hours and quiet time guidelines, or if you have any special needs or requests.
For safety reasons, latex balloons or other latex products are not allowed (mylar balloons are allowed).

Chris York, President
Chris York, FACHE, serves as president of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, having assumed the role in May of 2023. In this role he collaborates with the hospital's executive leadership team to direct and coordinate clinical, service and operational activities. He also works to advance physician engagement and promote effective employee and community relations.
York has more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, much of it in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. He joined Texas Health from Community Health Systems, where he served as market CEO for Northwest Health System in Springdale, Arkansas. Before joining Community Health Systems, York spent nearly 15 years with Baylor Scott & White Health, most recently serving as president of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Grapevine and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Waxahachie.
He has also held leadership positions at WellStar Health System in Marietta, Georgia; Ballard Health in Johnson City, Tennessee; and Vizient Performance Consulting in Charlotte, North Carolina.
York earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees in business administration from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was a fellow with the Baylor Scott & White Health/Southern Methodist University Executive Development and Growth Experience and was a healthcare executive fellow with the Advisory Board Co./Harvard University. He has served on a number of community boards and was named the 2019 Erie Chapman Foundation Healthcare CEO of the Year.
York and his wife, neonatologist Jackie York, M.D., have one son, Jack. Outside of work, he has served in various church leadership roles and enjoys mentoring, coaching, fishing and golfing.

Melissa Winans, Chief Nursing Officer
Melissa Winans, D.N.P., M.B.A.-HCM, R.N., NEA-BC, FACHE, serves as the chief nursing officer of Texas Health Dallas, assuming the role in June 2024.
In her position at Texas Health Dallas, Winans works closely with the hospital president, Chris York, along with Sarah Way, M.D., chief quality and medical officer, and Tiffany Northern, chief operating officer, to develop and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures and practices to support safe, high-quality patient care. She is also responsible for the management of nursing practice, nursing education, professional development, nursing research and nursing administration.
Winans joined Texas Health Resources as director of women and infant services at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton in 2012, and then served as director of women and infant and critical care services. In 2014, she was promoted to chief nursing officer.
Winans led Texas Health Denton in achieving Magnet® designation during the COVID-19 pandemic and helped oversee the opening of the hospital’s new women’s center. She built a strong nursing team and instituted improvements in patient experience, employee engagement and quality of care outcomes. She is passionate about decreasing workplace violence and creating a safer workplace to give and receive care.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Minnesota State University Moorhead, a Master of Science in nursing from Excelsior University in Albany, New York, and a Master of Business Administration in healthcare management from Herzing University in Milwaukee. She also earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University.
When not at work, Winans enjoys quilting, reading and gardening. She and her husband have three adult children, two grandchildren, a toy poodle and two white Labrador retrievers.

Sarah Way, M.D., Chief Quality and Medical Officer
Sarah Way, M.D., J.D., serves as chief quality and medical officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, undertaking that role in December 2023.
Way has been an emergency room physician with TeamHealth/EMC practicing at Texas Health Dallas since 2007, and has served as president of the hospital’s medical staff and assistant director of the Emergency Department. She has been a member of numerous hospital committees — including those for Heart and Vascular Performance Improvement and Patient Safety, and Professional Practice Evaluation — and the Infectious Disease Task Force.
She has served as chair of the Behavioral Event Review Committee and is a graduate of Physicians Lead! Way received the Physician All-Star Award and has been a Physician of the Year nominee at Texas Health Dallas multiple times.
Way earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from California Western School of Law in San Diego. After practicing law for a year, she completed a post-baccalaureate premedical program at Scripps College in Claremont, California. Way received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and completed her residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
She and her husband, Chris, have four children, two grandchildren and two dogs. When she’s not at work, she enjoys running with her husband, cooking, traveling and — in her words — “attempting to learn gardening.”
