When you become a volunteer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, you join a team of caring professionals whose mission is to improve the health of the people in the community they serve.

Together with physicians on the medical staff, the vision is to be recognized by the community for faith-based care delivery, illness prevention and health education.

Adult Volunteer Program

Volunteers at Texas Health Plano are dedicated men and women, from all kinds of backgrounds who share a common desire to help others. They get a first-hand look at what goes into high-quality health care through their efforts to comfort patients, provide information to guests and visitors and assist the professional staff. Volunteers typically sign up for a four-hour shift each week and agree to a 12-month commitment.

There are many benefits to becoming a volunteer. In addition to helping others, volunteers have the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills, gain new insights and achieve a sense of accomplishment. A complimentary meal is also provide to volunteers while working at the hospital. Volunteer achievements are recognized twice a year with an awards dinner or luncheon for adult volunteers. Volunteering does not lead to employment.

Caring Canines Program

Our volunteer canines and their handlers must be registered teams with Pet Partner® Your involvement will allow you and your pet to provide comfort, healing and joy to people in need throughout the hospital.
