Internships & Summer Volunteer Opportunities

IEEM internships for the summer (or for a longer period of time) are by invitation only. To inquire about an IEEM internship, please contact faculty members directly, as the number of internships is limited and funding is not always available. Please follow the steps below to apply for an IEEM internship or summer volunteer position:

  • Please review our web pages for the various laboratories specialties
  • Pick one lab that covers your area of interest
  • For internship consideration, contact the lab faculty member and provide your name, phone, and email address
  • If an invitation is made, our faculty member will contact the IEEM administrative staff to arrange a formal internship application
  • Complete the IEEM internship application sent to you by email
  • Your application will undergo an approval process
  • Please allow 2-3 months for internship application approval
  • Student visa requests are very restricted and/or not always available
