Health care executive brings three decades of experience to new role

DALLAS — Chris York, FACHE, has been named president at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. He assumes the role on May 8.

In this role, York will collaborate with the Texas Health Dallas executive leadership team to direct and coordinate the hospital’s clinical, service and operational activities. He will work to advance physician engagement and to promote effective employee and community relations.

“Chris is joining the organization at an exciting time for Texas Health Dallas, as we are nearing completion of a $60 million renovation of The Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants,” said Kirk King, chief operating office, hospital channel, for Texas Health.  “He also will focus on key clinical program growth and investments in physician workforce and campus enhancements. Our Dallas hospital has been a trusted community partner for decades and we’re planning for significant opportunities in the future.”

York has more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, much of it in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. He joins Texas Health from Community Health Systems, where he served as market CEO for Northwest Health System in Springdale, Arkansas, since January 2022. Before joining Community Health Systems, he spent nearly 15 years with Baylor Scott & White Health, most recently serving as president of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Grapevine and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Waxahachie. He has also held leadership positions at WellStar Health System in Marietta, Georgia; Ballard Health in Johnson City, Tennessee; and Vizient Performance Consulting in Charlotte, North Carolina.

York earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees in business administration from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was a fellow with the Baylor Scott & White Health/Southern Methodist University Executive Development and Growth Experience and was a healthcare executive fellow with the Advisory Board Co./Harvard University. He has served on a number of community boards and was named the 2019 Erie Chapman Foundation Healthcare CEO of the Year.
