Effective employee engagement is crucial for delivering high-quality and safe care, fostering seamless communication and collaboration, enhancing job satisfaction, advancing innovation and cultivating a positive work environment. We aim to create a safe place for meaningful dialog by establishing communication channels to listen, learn and exchange knowledge. We want every employee to:
- Facilitate meaningful connections with consumers, patients and colleagues.
- Understand and advance systemwide priorities.
- Achieve their career potential.
Priorities
To preserve our positive and productive culture, we focus on:
- Extending a warm welcome to new hires and facilitating their successful acclimation.
- Helping employees feel safe, valued, connected and heard. We offer practical solutions to enhance communication, teamwork, safety protocols, mental health and overall well-being.
- Enabling leaders to support their teams through transparent communication channels and equipping them with tools to actualize our strategic vision.
- Empowering physicians and clinicians to deliver top-tier care to consumers and foster inter-team collaboration.
How We Engage
We utilize various channels to engage our people, share information and gather input on organizational initiatives, including unit-based councils, departmental meetings, our intranet and leadership town halls. We encourage our employees to participate in committees and activities that matter to them and share stories about their lives. Our holistic approach aims to nurture the well-being of our care team members in mind, body and spirit.
Furthermore, our robust rewards and recognition program highlights outstanding employees who excel in professionalism, volunteerism, clinical proficiency, diversity and inclusion efforts and other noteworthy achievements.
Soliciting Feedback
We gather a holistic view of the employee experience by assessing feedback from patient care, employee safety and engagement surveys to align efforts and optimize performance strategically. Reviewing employee feedback enables us to use benchmarked data against national and industry standards to monitor our progress from hire to retirement. Our leaders and Human Resource teams also conduct regular rounding sessions with our care team members, hear their concerns and provide real-time solutions that enhance their satisfaction and patient care.
Based on direct feedback through surveys, we can implement changes throughout all operational areas that have improved our retention. We utilize programs that help managers build their leadership skills to improve relationships within departments, one relationship at a time, which solidifies our principles of leading and working using our Promise Principles.
