Q. What is an Event Sponsorship?
A. Sponsorships provide nonprofit organizations with funding for event or program sponsorship and provide Texas Health Resources with some form of public marketing and/or public relations recognition (i.e. fundraising walks, dinners, galas, etc.). For events, please ensure you submit the request at least 90 days before the event and any marketing or promotion activity.
Q. What other types of support can be requested through the Community Giving program?
A. Through the Community Giving program, nonprofit organizations may also submit a request for support in the form of a charitable contribution, in-kind donation or direct program support. Financial support is limited to the specific areas of health disparities, disease management, wellness, disease prevention and health promotion programs, clinics, charitable care, community health collaboratives, and coordinator of care and physician engagement.
Q. Can my organization request an event sponsorship or one of the other forms of community support if we did not receive an invitation to apply?
A. Yes, any nonprofit 501(c)(3), 501(c)(6) or 509(a)(1), (2) or (3) organization or tax-exempt public agency classified under Section 170 (c) (1) that operates programs that fit within our geographic scope, priority focus areas and meets our eligibility requirements is welcome to apply.
Q. What is an EIN?
A. An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number and is used to identify a business entity. It is issued by the Internal Revenue Service and is also commonly known in the nonprofit world as a Tax Exemption Number.

Q. What is the deadline for requesting an event sponsorship or community support?
A. Currently, all applications are accepted year-round. For community events, please ensure you submit the request at least 90 days before the event and any marketing or promotion activity.
Q. I am a faith-based institution, can I apply for funding?
A. Faith-based organizations whose services are provided to anyone without regard to religious affiliation or required participation in faith-based activities are eligible to apply.
Q. May I apply for general operating costs?
A. General operating funding requests are not accepted by Texas Health. (i.e. program staff salaries, software, supplies, equipment, rent/utilities, etc.)
Q. How will my proposal be evaluated?
A. Once submitted online, your request will be directed to the appropriate Texas Health entity/hospital for consideration. If we are able to support your request, a representative will contact you directly.
Q. When will I hear back about my application?
A. Funding decisions are generally made within 30 days. Due to the high volume of requests, we are unable to contribute to each eligible cause. If your cause is not selected, please feel free to apply again next year.
Q. Can I check the status of my request?
A. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide tracking information at this time. Once submitted online, your request will be directed to the appropriate Texas Health entity/hospital for consideration. If we are able to support your request, a representative will contact you directly.
