Hospital Expansions and Renovations
- 14,405 patients were served at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth’s newly constructed Jane and John Justin Tower, that’s a 37% increase over the prior year
- 4,508 babies made their way into this world at the modernized Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas
- Countless families will experience the comforts of home while their babies spend time in the NICU at the new NICU Family Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano
Community Outreach
- The THRIVE program was implemented in two schools in the fall of 2023, serving 293 underserved students and their families with resiliency training and access to health food in this short time
- 3,262 patients received care though our Wellness for Life Mobile Health program, which has provided 3,023 mammograms, 179 diagnostic procedures, 41 mobile breast biopsies, 623 clinical breast exams, and 607 well-woman exams through 349 sites
- 880 victims of sexual assault were cared for through the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program
- Served 72 homeless patients with acute health needs through the Health to Home Medical Respite program
Education and Caregiver Support
- Sent more than 200 Texas Health nurses and allied professionals to educational conferences across the country
- Provided academic awards to 18 clinical staff pursuing degrees to advance their clinical work at Texas Health
- Implemented more than 40 Schwartz Rounds across 14 Texas Health hospitals, providing important caregiver support that allows them to openly discuss the social and emotional issues they face in caring for patients and families
Research Support
- Supported the Cardiopulmonary Laboratory of Dr. Tony Babb, Ph.D., and his investigations on breathing limitations in patients with heart failure and obesity
- Supported the Women’s Heart Health Laboratory of Dr. Qi Fu, M.D., Ph.D., and her investigations on the impact of obstructive sleep apnea on maternal heart health during pregnancy
Special Projects
- 13 HOSPITALS received support for their Pastoral Care Chaplains
- The N.E.A.T. (Nutrition, Exercise, and Attitudes for Tomorrow) program is a cancer survivorship program that was expanded to three additional hospitals
