At your baby’s 2-month checkup, he’ll receive his first full set of vaccinations against multiple childhood diseases. Watching him receive these injections may be more painful for you than for him. Try these tips for making him more comfortable (and easing your own anxiety):
- Hold your baby as the injection is given.
- Try putting a few drops of sugar water on his tongue as a pleasant distraction.
- If you’re breastfeeding, try nursing him during or immediately after an injection.
