'Take-Away' is a fun memory game for older toddlers. Here's how to play:
- Gather 10 small, common household objects. Put 3 of them on the floor.
- Ask your toddler to take a close look, then to cover her eyes while you take away 1 item.
- Can she remember which item is missing? Can she describe it without looking at it?
- Add objects to the collection on the floor as your child increases his abilities. Vary the game by taking away more than 1 item.
Praise your child's efforts to recall and use descriptive language. Take your turn, too! After your child has taken a turn guessing, let him hide something while you cover your eyes.
