First grade may seem far off in the future, but you can do some simple things now to support your child's success later on in school.
Language skills are the basis for other skills, including reading, math and social interactions. Your vocabulary, conversations, reading habits and your child’s exposure to books in the first 3 years are key.
Language abilities at ages 3 and 4 develop into a child’s school-readiness at age 5 and academic achievement at age 12.
