Blake Kretz, FACHE, MHA is an experienced executive leader with more than 36 years of health care experience. He has served 31 of those years through diversified administrative leadership and gained five years of clinical experience as a certified orthopedic physician assistant.

He has served as the hospital president at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital since February 2015.

At Texas Health Arlington Memorial, Kretz has led efforts to establish a comprehensive lung program, hyperbaric and wound care center. Under his leadership, the hospital is a certified Level III NICU, Level III Maternal Child and Level III Trauma Facility.

Texas Health Arlington Memorial was recertified in 2023 as a Cycle III Chest Pain Center and a Primary Stroke Center, Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

Prior to joining Texas Health Arlington, Kretz served as president at Texas Health Cleburne and administrator/CEO of Graham Regional Medical Center in Graham, Texas. He completed his administrative residency at HCA St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City and worked as an orthopedic physician's assistant at Orthopedic Associates in Lewisville out of college.

Kretz believes it is important to be involved in the community and has served on the Chamber of Commerce Boards and community boards in every community he has been the hospital president. Professionally, he serves on multiple boards, including Texas Rehabilitation Hospital Arlington, Texas GI Center, and Texas Health Ambulatory Surgery Center Arlington.

He has served on health care related committees, including the Texas Hospital Association Council on Policy Development and Precinct 2 Healthcare Advisory Council and is past chair of the DFW Hospital Council.

A native Texan, Kretz is a graduate of Harlingen High School and Abilene Christian University, and he holds a master's degree in health care administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.

In his spare time, he enjoys golf, riding his mountain bike with his son, hanging out at the river, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Lori, have a daughter, Nicole, a son, Michael, son-in-law Brandon, and grandchild Bentley.

Shonna Bracco, D.N.P., R.N., NEA-BC, serves as chief nursing/professional services officer at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, beginning that role in September 2019.

Bracco joined the Texas Health Resources team from Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Temple, where she had served as vice president of patient care services since January 2016. In that position, she oversaw more than 800 full-time employees and 11 acute-care nursing units, including four intermediate care units, three medical units and four surgical units. She had worked for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center since 2010 and has more than 23 years of progressive leadership experience.

Bracco is passionate about creating a healthy work environment and the prevention of workplace violence for health care workers.

She began her career in health care at Hillcrest Health System (now Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest) in Waco, where she served as a staff/charge nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit.

She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Texas Tech University, a master's in nursing leadership and health policy from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi and a doctorate of nursing practice-nursing executive leadership from Texas Christian University.

Bracco married her high school sweetheart, Lance, who serves as fire chief for the city of Hewitt. They have one son, Lance Jr., a biology major at TCU.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, RV camping on long trips and loves all things Disney. The family pets include a French bulldog.

 

Kenneth P. Rothfield, M.D., M.B.A., C.P.E., CPPS , has served as Chief Quality and Medical Officer at Texas Health Resources Arlington Memorial Hospital since April 2020. In this role, he is responsible for providing clinical perspective, experience and leadership to advance patient safety and clinical excellence, as well as ensuring collaboration and alignment between the hospital and physicians on the medical staff.

 

Prior to joining Texas Health, Rothfield served as Chief Medical Officer at HCA Medical City Dallas, as well as with Ascension Saint Vincent’s Healthcare in Jacksonville, Fla. In those roles he was credited for re-energizing quality, patient safety and infection prevention teams to achieve substantial gains in patient outcomes. A board-certified anesthesiologist, Rothfield previously served on the faculties of both the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Maryland, as well as leading several community hospital anesthesiology departments across the state of Maryland.

A graduate of Harvard College and the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rothfield completed his residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in cardiovascular anesthesia and research at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He subsequently completed an M.B.A. in medical services management at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
