Award recognizes leaders in expanding health and well-being offerings

ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Resources is one of 53 honorees nationwide to receive the Business Group on Health’s Best Employers Award: Excellence in Health & Well-being. The honor recognizes outstanding commitment to advancing employee well-being through comprehensive and innovative benefits and initiatives.

This is the 16th consecutive year the system has received this recognition.

“Texas Health is the place to do your life’s best work,” said Carla Dawson, chief people officer for the health system. “We care about the overall health and well-being of our care team members and continually evaluate programs to offer benefits and resources that uplift the mind, body and spirit.”

The awards, now in their 20th year, were announced in Nashville at Business Group on Health’s 2025 Annual Conference.

Honorees were assessed on their approaches to leadership, culture and well-being strategy; holistic well-being, including mental health, financial well-being, social connectedness, job satisfaction, flexibility and time away; engagement and employee experience; accessibility to healthcare and barriers to good health; and metrics and evaluation.

Texas Health employees have access to a variety of programs that help them achieve a balanced life. Texas Health offers employees a variety of medical plan options to meet their healthcare needs. Through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) employees can get counseling, legal assistance and financial resources.

Employees enrolled in medical coverage can take part in the Be Healthy Wellness Program through Personify Health which includes resources to reduce stress, improve sleep and promote physical fitness. Resources such as Self-Care Check-In virtual discussions and the Headspace guided meditation program connect employees with skills to cope with stress and anxiety.

Employees also can enroll in a generous 401(k) program with company match and get paid parental leave and paid time off both for personal use and to volunteer in their communities. Texas Health supports leadership development and continuing education. The organization also offers reimbursement of tuition and fees for approved degree plans.
