Hospitalist Physician: Perform evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients within the Internal Medicine area of specialization including provision of adult and adolescent care, inpatient and ICU, and medical consultations with emphasis on Internal Medicine; examine and monitor patients and recommend and modify course of treatment; prescribe medication, procedures, and treatment as required by patients’ condition; develop reports of all examinations, treatments, and procedures prescribed and performed under the physician’s care and in accordance with sound medical practices; provide all hospital inpatient services within the Internal Medicine area of specialization; complete billing, charge, and necessary insurance documentation on patients; participate in the hospital’s quality assurance, peer review, and safety programs establishment and implementation; and train and supervise medical students, residents, and hospital personnel.

Education Requirements: Doctor of Medicine degree.

Training Requirements: 36 months residency in Internal Medicine.

Additional Requirements: Texas Medical License; Board Certified or Board eligible in Internal Medicine.
