Whether it’s a quick, informal chat on the unit or connecting with employees at a health fair, Texas Health EAP has it covered. Our innovative approach allows us to reach employees across all units, all shifts, and all entities. Some of the services we offer include:

Departmental Critical Incident Response

It’s reassuring to know that Texas Health EAP is ready to assist employees in the aftermath of an unexpected distressing event. All Texas Health EAP counselors are specially trained to provide Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) interventions to:

  • Allowing those involved to process the event and reflect upon its impact
  • Normalize employees’ reactions to the incident
  • Encourage the natural recovery process and assess the need for further intervention

Critical Incidents may include, but are not limited to:

  • Death of an employee
  • Workplace violence
  • Emotionally abusive, aggressive, or violent patient or visitor
  • Workplace accident or injury
  • Death of a patient with traumatic impact on hospital staff
  • Series of patient deaths occurring on the same unit in a short period of time
  • Unexpected medical or surgical outcomes
  • Emergencies that have a traumatic impact on the staff
  • Natural disasters

Human Resources and/or a department leader can request CISM services following a critical event 24/7/365 by calling Texas Health EAP at 682-236-6861. A trained CISM EAP counselor will immediately assess the situation and collaborate about the best plan to meet the department needs.

While no one ever wants to experience a traumatic workplace incident, it’s reassuring to know that Texas Health EAP is ready to assist when those situations occur and has the training and tools to help staff down the road to recovery.

Onsite Wellness Rounding

Onsite rounding gives us the opportunity to hear from staff directly and provides employees and leaders real-time, convenient support, right at work. These interactions have proven successful in raising awareness about self-care and wellbeing, and decreasing the stigma associated with reaching out for assistance. Our goal is to empower staff to take control of their health and wellbeing, whether that means spending a few minutes talking about tips to manage stress or discussing ways to access more individualized services. In additional to our regular monthly rounds, department leaders can request additional rounding by calling 682-236-6861.

Prevention and Outreach Services

Our prevention and outreach services are customizable to meet your teams needs and are offered onsite or virtually. Whether it’s providing a refresher about the variety of EAP services, being available for onsite meet-and-greets, hosting a lunch-and-learn training, or participating in health/safety/benefit fairs, the Texas Health EAP team is here to meet with your team.
