The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education Inc. (ACPE) equips clergy and lay leaders to offer competent and compassionate spiritual care to hospitalized people and their loved ones.
Because Texas Health is nonprofit and faith-based, CPE is a natural extension of our mission to improve the health and well-being of the people and communities we serve. At the heart of our mission is our love for people and our commitment to our sacred calling.
Meet Our Faculty

Our CPE Programs
We currently offer two CPE programs:
- Extended (part-time) CPE units that require a commitment of 20 hours per week plus periodic overnight on-calls. These units run approximately 5.5 months and offer a stipend.
- Residency (full-time) 40 hours per week plus on-call. This 12-month fixed-term position is exempt, salaried and offers benefits.
ACPE
ACPE provides CPE programs for spiritual care professionals of any faith and offers programs of Level I, II and Supervisory CPE. It has system accreditation for multiple CPE centers.
