From all of us here at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano Internal Medicine Residency Program, we are excited to provide you more information about our unique program. Here, we are committed to providing an exceptional graduate medical education training experience focusing on our core values of personal well-being, teamwork, curiosity, impact and service.

In our program, we believe strongly that the well-being of our residents is paramount. The practice of medicine can be demanding, and we are committed to producing well-balanced residents through a curriculum that fosters positive mental health throughout training, and encourages the kind of self-care that will benefit a physician throughout their career. We provide a supportive learning environment that fosters growth and development while also ensuring that our residents have the tools they need to thrive both personally and professionally.

Teamwork is also an essential component of our program. Medicine is a team sport, and we work together to ensure that our residents have access to the resources and support they will need as they take the next steps in their careers. Our program’s faculty members are dedicated to creating a collaborative learning environment that fosters communication and mutual respect in a culture of compassion.

Curiosity is at the heart of our program. The practice of medicine is an ever-evolving field, and we encourage our residents to maintain a sense of curiosity and wonder of the world around them. Our program offers a robust curriculum that includes both traditional and innovative approaches to medical education, with a focus on evidence-based practice and critical thinking that will serve our residents for a lifetime.

Impact is another core value of our program. We believe that our residents have the potential to make a significant impact on the world around them during their training and well beyond. We provide our residents with opportunities to engage in meaningful quality improvement projects and clinical experiences with the goal of preparing them to become leaders who are driven by excellence in quality of care, adaptability and professionalism.

Finally, service is a fundamental aspect of our program. We are committed to serving our patients and our community, and we believe that our residents have a vital role to play in this effort. We encourage our residents to engage in service activities that align with their interests and passions with the goal of developing a lifelong commitment to service and giving back.
